Glossaire de termes vidéo - Regular 8
Nonprofessional
film format developed by KODAK in 1932 to compete with the Pathé 9,5mm.
It consisted of a 16mm film with twice as many perforations. The first
half (lengthwise) was exposed, then the reel was turned around to
expose the second half (a little like audio cassette tapes). After
processing, the film was cut in two lengthwise and the two parts were
assembled. Widespread for a family use, this standard was replaced by
Super8 after 1965.
